Where support for Donald Trump is highest

The New York Times investigated locations where support for presidential candidate Donald Trump is highest. The billionaire real estate developer's campaign has awoken xenophobic and sometimes violent racist sentiment. A closer look at his supporters shows a high degree of white Americans who have not completed high school, hence his famous quote, "I love the poorly educated". Another indicator is places where "American" ancestry is highest. Respondents here don't reply to the United Census Bureau with an ethnic identity (i.e. English, German, etc.) but rather American.

The below chart shows states where persons who identify their ancestry as "American" are concentrated. Read the full Times article for more details on the profile of Trump supporters.
