Alaska's Largest Ethnic Groups

Germans are the largest ethnic group in Alaska, making up 18% of the population. One in eight residents is a member of an Alaska Native tribe. Alaska has the distinction of being the only American state to share a border with Russia, and Russians form the state's 17th largest ethnic group.
